How to Lead a Healthy Meeting

1. The leader acts as a facilitator, coaching and giving each person the opportunity to participate.
2. Teaching, short, including lots of interaction, and having practical application
3. Prayer, involving everyone.
4. Evangelism, to give the group an outward focus.
5. Worship, facilitated through a gifted musician, through a worship CD/DVD, singing a capella, or simply reading a Psalm.
6. Fellowship, before, during, and after a meeting, as people are given time to communicate with one another and perhaps pray one-on-one for each other.
7. Food, usually adding an element of warm hospitality, as well as fun/entertainment/promotion of fellowship.
8. Spiritual gifts, after teaching them, practicing and exercising them.
9. Children, participating in part of the meeting .
10. Choosing a home, one that is clean, comfortable, large enough for everyone to meet in one room, and well-lit.
11. Maintaining order, structure enough so that things can be accomplished, but with freedom necessary to encourage everyone to participate.
12. Length of meetings, approximately 90 minutes.
13. Preparation and prayer, though flexible to change the format.
14. Flexibility, not predictable, especially in how the group can serve others.
