Singles’ Group Reaches Out

Partnering In Ministry
One of the exciting developments we saw coming out of the just-finished community- wide 40-day fast was a commitment to partnering in ministry to effectively reach people for Christ. This has been a long time in coming and something which, as it continues to develop, can radically change the Tri-Cities and even move beyond into the whole SE Washington region. The vision with which CrossWalk Singles of the Tri Cities was started fits right into this partnering concept.
As a group we are based at and supported by Bethel and welcome Christian singles from across the Tri Cities regardless of their church affiliation. In doing this we have seen people come from throughout the Tri Cities but also from Hermiston, Prosser, and Othello.
In December a member from Othello brought a need to our attention. A young single mother with three small children had experienced a fire in their home and lost all of their possessions. As our member became aware of this situation through his home church in Othello he shared his burden with our group to reach out and help this family. After discussing it with us, he met with the family and found they had moved back into the home, which had been refurbished, but were sleeping on floors and had nothing else inside.
Working in partnership with Othello Church of the Nazarene, members from CrossWalk Singles were able together to bless and show God’s love to this family. New beds and bedding for the kids, kitchen utensils, dressers, dolls, desks and an entertainment center were gathered and given from us. Also foodstuffs, tables, chairs and clothing from Othello Nazarene began to turn an empty shell back into a home.
Our prayer is that the love and prayer that was attached to these things as they went to this displaced family will draw them into a relationship with the Father who sees each one of us and knows and supplies all of our needs through His marvelous riches.
Partnering in ministry can happen in ways big and small at any and all times. Let’s continue to bless others as we have been blessed through Christ.
