Sitting Under a Big Dog This Week?
By Paul | September 13, 2007
Pastor Dave showed a picture of a cat being sat on by a dog this past Sunday, and used that as an illustration for “Big Dogs” in our lives that crush our spirit and take the fight out of us.
- Two key big-dogs are guilt and fear.
- God has given us resources to avoid being crushed by them. One of those is a Bethel small group. Dave used a compelling video of a herd of water buffalo (small group) coming to the rescue and defending their young calf (lone member) against lions and a crocodile (big dogs).
- Often when you heal the spirit, the body gets healed too. Assignment: studying Romans 8:11
- When feeling hurried, STOP and go to Jesus–He brings peace.
- If God has forgiven you, that settles it–you have to forgive yourself.
Pray for Pastor Dave as He launches the first of the 4-week series on Pursuing a Deeper Relationship with Jesus, and pray for the small groups and individuals who will be diving deeper through the study during the week.
