Actions from Acts
By Paul | July 17, 2007
John Stone (tag-teaming with Dave Dawson) continued the Life in the Spirit series for July this past Sunday with “The Idiot’s Guide to the Holy Spirit.”
Some potential takeaways to pray into your life from the message:
- Thank God for 10 things each day, because anything good that emanates from us is not from us; it’s from God through us.
- Ask, “How do you want to speak to me, Lord?” and then listen for His response.
- You cannot have a great relationship with Jesus with 2-3 minutes of prayer per day. We have to spend time with Jesus!
- “Jesus, help!” is quite an effective prayer. His name gives us authority.
- Take a step of faith—soon those steps will become walking in the Spirit.
Then from today’s message: “The Gifts of Freedom and Fear“, John shared:
- Every fruit of the Spirit begins with an attitude.
- Are you living your life for the dot (this life) or for the ray (eternity)?
- If we lack the power of the Spirit in our lives, we can ask. Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Here’s a prayer to pray for John as he prepares this week: Acts 4:29: “Enable your servant to speak Your Word with great boldness.”
