Planning to Pursue a Deeper Relationship with Jesus
By Paul | May 17, 2007
At the recent Leadership Briefing, you heard about Bethel’s thematic goal for 2007-2008: pursuing a deeper relationship with Jesus! So many leaders are already excited about how running after this goal will change every one of our lives and the church in general!
The staff is already getting ahead of the game by establishing a chairperson to drive the focus (Kelli Templeton) and staff who will take leadership of each of the 5 objectives under the goal. We tell you this so that you can pray for each of them and the teams they will direct:
- Providing tools to help people get to know God through the Word and prayer (John Stone): things like materials for quiet times, Bible study/interpretation…
- Deepening our corporate worship experience (Chip Roebuck): things like variety in arts, music, silence, etc.
- Deepening the staff’s relationship with Jesus (Dave Dawson): things like staff retreat, staff communion…
- Focusing/training all small group leaders on how to lead their groups on a God-lover journey (Paul Casey): things like coordinating the sermon series with small group studies in September and curricula on loving God for small groups…
- Creating other environments and experiences to enhance deeper relationships with Christ (Dave Hilliard): things like a God-lover retreat and January classes for small groups/individuals to attend on this theme
